Introduction
Never before have consumers produced so many data points regarding their interests, needs, habits, and behaviors. The digitalization of almost all areas of life results in a gigantic potential to better understand and serve target groups – either through more effective and efficient advertising, more suitable products, or even wholly new services.
To use the actual added value of the collected data and translate it into business impact, a strategic orientation is needed that provides the framework and objectives for the collection, use, and activation of data and thus supports the corporate strategy.
Therefore, the goal of the two presentations of this Wissensdurst is to outline how convincing data strategies look like, which challenges have to be addressed in the process of development, and which successes can be generated with a data strategy.
